Our half-day workshops are a mini masterclasses with Sally-Ann Hunt. Each focuses on a different area of barbecue know-how, allowing you to develop your understanding and take your skills to the next level.
Whether you are a home cook, experienced pitmaster, or professional chef, this course is tailored to all experience levels. This summer, you have the opportunity to spend a half-day every month discovering a range of new and exciting barbecuing recipes and techniques. Each session is custom-designed to demystify the science of barbecue cooking while celebrating the fresh produce and festivals specific to the time of year.
Discover new ways to use seasonally available ingredients sourced locally from the Welbeck Estate and nearby farms. These ingredients are prepared using a variety of techniques, including curing and smoking, and then cooked on the open fire for you to enjoy in a feast at the end of each day.
You will also have the opportunity to incorporate other products from the estate into some new and exciting creations. This may include herbs, fruit and vegetables from Welbeck’s walled kitchen garden or foraged from the Estate, locally raised meat and dairy, ales from the Welbeck Abbey Brewers, or spirits from Drop Works.
Over the Summer, these half-day masterclasses cover every stage of the artisan food journey: sourcing, butchering, preparing and cooking the finest local and seasonal produce with love and respect.
Please Note:
Whilst we make every effort to adhere to best practices regarding allergen control and cross-contamination at The School of Artisan Food, we sincerely regret that we are unable to accommodate severe food allergies or coeliac disease. This is due to the continuous and varied use of our teaching spaces, common areas, and food preparation areas.
